Setting up Entourage 2008

This document is intended to assist in connecting the Entourage email client to the UTHSCH Exchange server. The instructions below assume that you are connected to the UTHSCH network and have a UT user ID and password. If you are unsure whether your computer meets these requirements, please contact your LAN Manager.

Note:

Due to issues with recent Entourage updates, you may need to connect to the VPN for these instructions to work, even if you are already on the UTHSCH network. Click here for instructions to connect to the VPN

1. Start Entourage, and from the Entourage menu, select Account Settings...

2. On the Accounts window, click the New button, and select Exchange from the menu

3. Type your full UT email address in the E-mail Address field, and make sure the My account is on an Exchange server box is checked. Click the Right Arrow

4. You will be prompted for your domain, username, and password. Enter "uthouston" for the domain, your UT user ID and password, and click OK

5. You should see the following screen. If not, click the Left Arrow to go back to the previous step, and make sure you enter your user ID and password correctly. If you do see the following screen, click the Right Arrow

6. On the next screen, click the Verify My Settings button.

7. Once the verification completes, click the Right Arrow

8. On the next screen, enter a name for the new account (something easily identifiable, like UT Exchange), and click Finish
