R. Andrew Harper, M.D.

Biography:

Dr. Andrew Harper is the Medical Director of the University of Texas Harris County Psychiatric Center. He is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston where he also serves as an Assistant Dean for Educational Programs. After completing his undergraduate studies at Baylor University, Dr. Harper received his MD from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston where he also completed residencies in Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. His clinical experience is primarily in the area of inpatient child and adolescent psychiatry. He is also involved in the education of medical students and psychiatry residents.

Clinical and Research Interests:

  1. Child and adolescent inpatient care
  2. Telepsychiatry, impulsivity and aggression, mood disorders in children and adolescents
