Blackboard™ At UT-Houston Medical School

Welcome to Blackboard™, an e-learning application acquired by The University of Texas Health Science Center - Houston for use by all its institutions.

Blackboard™ is a tool that transforms the Internet into a powerful environment for teaching, learning and communication. Course directors can immediately take advantage of a variety of tools to publish course documents such as syllabi, handouts, presentations and assignments. Interactive components include discussion boards, real-time chat, virtual classrooms and various e-mail options. Other administrative tools include student group management, an online grade book, online quizzes and surveys and, the ability to track student use. A Blackboard™ course is automatically created for each UT-Houston course offered through the registrar's office, and populated with currently enrolled students.

Blackboard™ also creates a community that can include student, faculty and campus life organizations, and institution-wide discussion boards. Organizations are manually created upon request.
