Welcome!
Dear Colleagues,
As president of your Alumni Association and a proud member of the Class of 1997, I am excited about the many services and opportunities available for alumni. Please take a moment to learn about what is going on at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston and all that we have to offer you. In our 41st year, we have the distinction of being the 7th largest medical school in the nation, with over 6,100 practicing medical school graduates.
Communication is essential to ensure a robust relationship between you and your alma mater, so please stay in touch with us and your classmates. To assist in this process we are redesigning our alumni website and hope to have the majority of it revamped by early 2012. We plan to make the site more interactive, easy to navigate and with enhanced usability. It takes just seconds to drop us a line, post on our Facebook page, send a tweet, or visit our website and read about what your classmates are doing, too.
We are here to enhance your relationship with UTMSH by offering opportunities: to mentor and support current students; to network socially and professionally with your colleagues; and, to involve you in Medical School activities and programs.
We hope that you will be an active participant in your Alumni Association by volunteering or attending one of many school traditions such as the White Coat Ceremony, Commencement, Strobel Freshmen/Alumni/Faculty Retreat at Camp Allen, or the New Clinician Ceremony. We want to make a favorable impression on our students as they leave the Medical School and join our alumni ranks as future ambassadors to the medical world.
Best wishes,
Lowell Ku, M.D., ’97
President, Alumni Association
