Distinguished Alumnus Award

The deadline for nominations for the Distinguished Alumnus award is February 1st, 2007. The award will be made at Homecoming 2007, on April 21st.

PURPOSE: To recognize outstanding contributions in the areas of medical science and education or the prevention and treatment of disease as well as those who demonstrate a continued interest in the Medical School and its students.

CRITERIA:

  • Service to the State of Texas such as: (a) delivery of health services; (b) community works and community relations.
  • Contribution to medical education
  • Service to organized medicine
  • Academic excellence.
  • Amount of prestige brought to UT-Houston Medical School by being a graduate thereof.
  • Ongoing relationship with the Medical School since graduation, particularly efforts to promote the school and its interests.
  • Other outstanding achievements worthy of recognition by the school.

    ELIGIBILITY: Any alumnus/a of The University of Texas Medical School at Houston may be nominated.

    NOMINATIONS: Please print out nomination form below. Make sure to include a letter of recommendation or a statement of the nominee's achievements and a resume.
